x5250 keyboard locks up

I'm back here to get some help. I'm currently using x5250. It was the
only option I had after spending months trying to configure tn5250 and
xt5250 to have a destructive backspace. When I had thought the
terminal emulator was working how I wanted it, I found another issue.
Every time an user inputs something they shouldn't, a warning message
appears at the bottom ("field requires numeric characters" or "only
characters 0 to 9 allowed" or "function key not allowed"...etc...) and
then the keyboard locks up and there's no way to move the cursor or
input anything or exit the screen. The only thing I've been able to do
to get it out of this state was bringing up the attn prompt by
pressing ESC and then pressing ENTER. This takes me back to a state
where I can input information. On a regular terminal, whenever the
keyboard locks up with an error, you can usually press CTRL to clear
it but I haven't found anything similar here
Is there anything I can do?
