Kevin, Ok, that worked .. sort of. I do get the output going to the punch now. I'm trying to generate IPL text, when I feed that output to the Hercules dasdload command, I get : HHCDL036E IPL000.TXT is not a valid object file The same jcl (except I changed IFOX00 to IEUASM) did generate an IPL'able / "dasdload friendly" deck from MVT. And MVT didn't complain about the punch being unavailable. What is special about the punch vs the printer, or reader for JES2? Mike > It's probably allocated to JES2.
