It's basically an issue of creating proper interfaces for the things
that cannot be published, and publishing all the stuff that is simply
compatibility issues. I haven't seen Transgaming's patch obviously,
but you can look at Laurent Pinchart's Safedisc patch for an idea of
the kind of things that are involved. It's a bit of a pain, but it
doesn't justify forking the entire tree.
