On what basis can you claim this as the "most likely" meaning? Linus has (in years past) certainly indicated a certain indifference to licensing issues. He has said that the only reason he used the GPL was because Linux owed so much to GCC, and GCC was under the GPL, so he did it as a sort of tribute to GCC. Now, it's possible he's become a True Believer since then, or perhaps the quote above should simply be taken at face value? Deven P.S.
