ATI Radeon Slowness

I believe I read on the transgaming site that there was a problem with
ATI cards responding very slowly...

I noted this problem, but compiled and ran winex anyway since the only
other card I had ( and no money for another one...) was in another
machine.

After experiencing very slow performance from Vampire:Redemption under
winex, I decided it was time to waste a day swapping cards. I almost
didn't make it to work on time today because I stayed up all night
playing the game cause performance with the Nvidia MX 420 card was AS
GOOD as that under Windows with the Radeon card.

So, 
If anyone investigates this problem and needs a tester, I have the old
Radeon 7000 card in the other PC.
