Indeed, thanks, I figured it out after sending the message.

It seems that the distribution misses the c-elf.s assembler input file,
apparently for CAST support.  I've edited tools/buildasm.sh, and could
compile the result.  It's not clear if the library is actually working,
but I'm getting there. 8-)
