I thought long and hard about this email before sending it, but I sent 
it to the list on purpose. I appreciate that I have crossed a line, but 
I did not do so casually or lightly.

Thank you for your consideration, and for your words of caution. I stand 
by my statement that we must foster a more inviting community. I don't 
believe this is currently the inviting community that either of us would 
prefer to see. I desperately hope that it can be.
