Jeffrey, it is not the persons but their arguments
which matter. So please do not misguide the listeners.

1. I am pretty certain that nobody has a reliable statistics over
PAM setups involving Kerberos. Is it this point which you question?

2. I never pretended to carry the ultimate truth "just because of the
years of involvement with system administration (since 1980's)". No.
I provided actual examples where the traditional practices break. I gave
also as formal and general explanations as possible. So did Russ.

3. If I happen to have a different opinion than Russ whom you respect
(as well as I do) and if you are unaware of my background, _this_ should
not mislead you to name my opinion "unsubstantiated".
Give arguments about the subject, not about people.

I am glad that we took up these controversial matters about practices. It
is hard and tiresome (and emotionally charged) to discuss, but important
to do sometimes. Thanks for the opinions explained in the other messages
of yours.
