Which fuse version?  Have you done a 'make install' after compiling it?

The usual way of mounting the filesystem is now:

  [FULL_PATH_TO_FUSE_DIST]/example/fusexmp /home/leidola/abcd/ -d

Calling fusermount directly is not needed.
