Okay, then I won't add automake rules to build these files.

Another question: The files in the bzlib directory are compiled with the
same flags except for the file bzread.c. The only difference is
that the option -O3 is not used for this file. Do you remember why this
is not used? Perhaps some miscompiling when using level 3 optimization
or something? If there is no reason I would let compile it also with -O3
which simplifies the automake Makefile.
