OpenAFS 1.4 Release Candidate 8 now available

The OpenAFS Gatekeepers announce the availability of OpenAFS version
1.4.0 Release Candidate 8.  Source files and available binaries can be
accessed via the web at:

    http://www.openafs.org/dl/openafs/candidate/1.4.0-rc8/

or via AFS at:

    /afs/grand.central.org/software/openafs/candidate/1.4.0-rc8/

Although it was out intention that RC7 would be the final set of
sources, several bug reports were received that were determined to be
show stoppers.

WINDOWS: an error in the processing of file name pattern matching

SOLARIS10: Properly size the afs_acl_disp_tbl array so that
afs_acl2_getxattrdir() actually gets used for AFS/NFS.

SOLARIS10: obtain the real vnode for pioctl() operations

HPUX11: remove reference to kthread-iface header

It is hoped that this will be the final release candidate for 1.4.0.
Assuming no further show stopping bugs are reported, the Gatekeepers
will re-brand the source code as 1.4.0 final and begin the process of
collecting binaries in preparation for formal announcement of 1.4.0
within the next couple of weeks.
