AIX 7.1 build works!

Hi everyone-
   It only took a few more updates to get the build completing on AIX 7.1, and it works there too!  I now have a working cell with one AIX 6.1 server and one AIX 7.1 client!

   I'll push the changes for a 7.1 once the 6.1 patches get accepted, in order to avoid needing to rebase.
