about sfs and local file-caching

I just found sfs and it really is a great upgrade over nfs as I am
using this over the internet instead of a LAN.  My Export is read-only
and my DSL connection is rather unfortunately bursty.  I've noticed
that it is difficult to use files over sfs quickly in this situation.=20
For instance, I'm unable to play high-bitrate music files without
skips.  I was wondering if there is a setting for local file caching
or (if it is caching locally) to increase the size of the cache.=20
