Hello all, I was wondering whether you guys think that Zero Install's feature set has any overlap with or could maybe be combined with the Xdg-App project (https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/SandboxedApps). I haven't tried Xdg-App yet, but the following concepts mentioned in the documentation caught my attention: * 3rd parties distribute applications that works on multiple distributions * Per-user installation of applications * Immutable, deduplicated implementations with multiple versions side-by-side (using OSTree) The big differences I noticed: * Mount applications and their dependencies to well-known locations (e.g. /app) rather than making them relocatable * Sandboxing built right in * Explicit "install" step required * Linux-only Perhaps with Xdg-App's bind mount feature could be replicated with an <overlay> binding in Zero Install? Any thoughts?
