Ok, I just finished this. I'm currently able to download lists of accounts, to 
retrieve account statements and to request and process transaction 
statements.

I'm testing this with my own application QBankManager, which I didn't have to 
change at all ;-)

So most likely GnuCash/KmyMoney won't have to be changed in order to use OFX 
direct connect instead of HBCI (which is used in Germany only).

However...

These changes are needed for the new backend to work.
I want to make the new backend available to testers as soon as possible, but 
currently even the CVS version of LibOFX doesn't suffice (because I didn't 
dare do commit my changes against Benoit's veto).


So the question remains: How do we proceed ?
