Thanks for the articles, I think I'm on track now.

I just installed Linux on a machine I can use ;).  

Before you emailed I was looking at the libofx code and how gnucash uses 
libofx to import ofx files.  I can understand now why it would take a lot of 
effort and create complexity by using libsigc++.  I forgot you emailed about 
libsigc++, I've jumped from comp to comp and I haven't moved my email over.
