It looks very nice, but it's not C style at all, We want to keep the external interface C so it can be used by C programs, as well as bindings generators (like SWIG) so libofx can eventually be used by scripting language like perl, python, etc. Maybe we can implement our C callback on top of libsigc++, but I'm not sure it would save us any time over implementing from scratch. I also feel I may become very unclear what happens to a new developper if we have two indirection layers for callback functions.
