Cost Basis in Investment Performance?

I am wondering why the cost basis is not recognised in the investment 
performance report but in the portfolio report. Are there any explanations?

I would like to see the cost basis recognised in the investment 
performance in order to see how far investment costs cost performance...

Maybe there could be an option: turn cost basis on/off for the 
investment performance report
