which Java to use?

I used to use sun-java for Moneydance but there are 2 problems with it.
   1.  sun-java was not able to print reports from Kubuntu Linux.
   2.  Connonical (owner of K/Ubuntu has depreciated the use of Sun Java.
       It's not in the repositories any more & I'm not sure how to dl it.

Some time ago I switched to OpenJDK which is an open source clone of 
Java.  It prints reports just fine but the font is really clunky and 
hard to read.

Since I am rebuilding a computer destroyed in an attic flood (damn 
freeze in Austin TX) I would like advice on which Java to use.

Given the choice between Sun-Java or OpenJDK which would you recommend 
and why?

Is there another Java that would be better to use?

It MUST be a Java that works under Linux which is my desktop.
