John, >>Is the 1000 sale lot the only one? > no, there are 3 sales shown in the left pane The software is probably checking the other two sales, and there's an error with one or both of them. So even though it's not on the screen when you've selected the 1000 share sale, the other two might add up to greater than the available shares. The system verifies all 3 sales to ensure that no lots are over-allocated. I recommend checking all three sales by clicking on each of them in the left pane, one at a time, before clicking OK. The interface isn't the most user-friendly, I agree, and it's a somewhat complicated situation (3 sales, dozens of buys). The software attempts to simplify things by showing you only one sale at a time, but all sales are considered when validating that particular fund. I have some unsolicited advice too, which I imagine you've already considered: since money-market funds are almost always fixed to $1.00, it might make better sense for you to do average cost tracking instead of lot-based for that particular investment, since you're unlikely to see any capital gains advantages with lot-based. Average cost would duck the whole issue of the lot-matching dialog. Good luck! --Kevin
