When I do that with the stock currency selected as USD, I get the long history. The price is not a straight line; because MD has many data points of Yen/Dollar conversion in its history. So, what is displayed is type of "adjusted for inflation" graph, derived from the first price ($30.24) and the yen/exchange rate on any date back to 2003. When I follow Kevin's suggestion with the stock currency selected as JPY, I get a single straight line at 30 yen (not $30.24, or it's yen equivalent of ~2700). The straight line only goes back to January 2011. Leaving it like that, and running the stock price synchronizer, loads the prices from Yahoo, and converts to yen; and, the original "transaction" price is overwritten with what is read from yahoo, around 2670 yen. Switching the currency in the security history back to USD, the prices match Yahoo's historical prices graph; but, then, when I close the history window, the graph expands back to 2003 again.
