Yes, you can write code in-app purchases:

To be candid, I think it is too complicated a solution, particularly for
HandyBank. Putting in the unlock code could cause stability issues with the
application as a whole. Furthermore, the portion that required the most
effort to develop was the synchronization, and a demo version with no sync
is useless. The philosophy I'm going to stick with initially is to fully
document the application, and encourage prospective buyers to look over the
documentation to see whether the app will meet their needs or not.

HandyBank will have more features initially than Moneydance Mobile, as it
will support Budget Bars and Dropbox sync. I don't know what the product
road map or timeline looks like for Moneydance Mobile.
