I don't mind the new transaction window opening when I complete the previous transaction, but I certainly miss the Done or OK button. Why was this removed? Also, there used to be a button to click on to create a new split or to edit or view the current split. I now see these actions are done in rather strange ways. I haven't been paying close attention to the discussion here these past couple of years, but these seem like steps backwards to me.
