I hate to say it, but you should post these to the "new forum", whatever it's called and wherever it is. MD support is responding there, whereas here, Sean might pop in once in a while. I plan to keep on participating here, but I'll be in The Other Place when I want MD support to hear it. "Add Security" means add a security to this investment account. The popup menu includes all securities that you have ever added to any investment account, so that you can use the same security in multiple places. "New Security" means to enter the information for a security which you've never used and therefore is not in the popup. I agree that this is rather confusing. Possibly just better labeling would be enough. From an IT person's point of view, I would make the list of "candidate securities" completely separate -- before you add a security to an account, you first go to the "candidate securities" page and add it there. But I can see that this would probably be worse for the majority of users. So I think this needs to be re-thought, but I'm not sure what direction I'd recommend. I haven't tested your focus problem. I add securities so seldom that I just don't care. Anyway, MD still has quite a few focus problems scattered all over, though I have the impression that the number has gone down gradually. >Another issue: When using the search textbox at the top left of the main >window, I would like to be able to press ESC to clear the search, rather >than being forced to click on the X. That's the way Spotlight works, and >other similar search textboxes. Um ... search box in the top left? The only search box I see is in the top right, and this being a Java application I don't think Mac vs Windows is the difference. If you meant top left, then what page are you on? If you meant top right, when I hit escape, the search box clears as expected. I'm on Java 1.6.0_25, but it's been this way since the search box was added (MD2010?). If you're on a significantly older Java, that might be relevant. Windows vs Mac might matter here too. Edward
