What kind of things are you seeing on OpenJDK? I'm using:

openjdk version "1.6.0-wse"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0-wse-b22)
OpenJDK Client VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode)

on OS/2 (eComStation 1.2R). I see things such as the extension
installation confirmation dialog getting stretched down two (or more)
virtual desktops(!). Other than that, it seems stable enough. On my
Linux boxes, I'm running all Sun (Oracle) JVMs (openSUSE 11 & 12), so I
haven't had any experience with OpenJDK on Linux (and no experience with
either on Ubuntu).

Cheers
