budget manager off month?

I'm trying to figure out the budget manager and how to use it. We get our deposit at the end of the month, like the 28-30, and often spend money before the first. As a result, many times that is not in the budget, and the income doesn't end up in the budget. Can the budget be made to work from the 27th - 27th of any given month? How do I do this? We have a fluctuating income, and I have to tinker with the budget every month, but would like to use it.
