Thanks, Lewis... and I'm one who prefers top posting! Anyway... I never 
paid much attention to Java because MD took care of it automatically. 
But a look at the /Moneydance/jre "copyright" file shows Oracle... so it 
looks like Sun. (I just tried DL'ing a fresh Debian/Linux MD from the 
Moneydance website and double-clicking on the .deb file as instructed... 
same error.)
