Lewis and Alan,

Thanks very much for your attention to my issue with MD on Mepis. It's
very reassuring to know that other users are willing to help.

Alan, as reported elsewhere, everything looks straightened out now.
Lewis, your comment about network setups is probably on target. I've
experimented with many Linux installations and have run into this ONLY
with Mepis.

Thanks again, guys... and to the Jon, the Infinitekind person who looked
into it too. I consider the issue SOLVED!
