Bug report

Greetings,

I'm experiencing difficulty with my version of FontForge (20120731).
I'm using Crunchbang Linux (based on Debian).

Distributor ID:    Debian
Description:    Debian GNU/Linux 6.0.10 (squeeze)
Release:    6.0.10
Codename:    squeeze

Linux version 3.2.0-0.bpo.4-686-pae (gcc version 4.4.5 (Debian 4.4.5-8) )

All options in the program work except when I try to open a new outline
window the entire system completely freezes
and I'm unable to use my computer until I do a system reboot.
I tried installing FontForge from regular software repositories and also
tried compiling from sources
that I downloaded from sourceforge, but the problem persists.
I tried running it with gdb hoping that it wouldn't completely freeze the
system, but it still freezes it.

I'd be grateful if anyone could provide me with any help in fixing this
issue.
I tried google-ing the problem, but was unable to find any solution.
I have a feeling that my situation might be unique.

So, again .. when I try to open "New outline window", the application
freezes the entire system (as in I have to reboot in order to be able to
use my computer again)

If you require more information on anything, please instruct me on how to
do it and I'll reply back with
all the necessary info needed to fix this issue.
