Agh. That would indeed be useful, but FontForge's interface uses the
traditional path editing model in which the off-curve points are linked to
the on-curve points. I can't think of an easy way to add such functionality
without confusing people. Have you tried making Spiro paths? That seems to
be the best way forward for people thinking past the "old" ways.
