The document looks OK in general for me except the following three nits:


1. "... Delegating patch approval to module maintainers. ...":
We need to make a list (as quickly as possible) with (defacto) module
owners. Module owners should post an email to release-wranglers with the
following information:
- Module name
- Owners (real name + email (and the bugzilla email address if it is
different from the normal email address)) and a list of peers (including
real name and email address (and the bugzilla email address if it is
different from the normal email address))
- Directories which belong to this module

For now I'd like to nominate:
- Torrey Lyons <[email protected]> for the MacOSX/Darwin port (Torrey
needs to come up with a list of dirs)
- Chisato Yamauchi <[email protected]> for the FreeType
font module (xc/lib/fonts/FreeType/ ; assuming he still wants the job :)
- Roland Mainz <[email protected]> (myself :) for the Xprint DDX
(xc/programs/Xserver/Xprint/) and Xprint server maintaince tools
(xc/programs/xplsprinters/, xc/programs/xphelloworld/ ,
xc/programs/xptest/ , xc/programs/xprehashprinterlist/ (hopefully I
didn't forget something)) [1]
* anyone else ?

[1]=This needs to be approved via consens or vote by release-wrangers as
I shouldn't be allowed to approve my own request to become the module
owner for some dirs :)


2. Module owners should do a formal annoucement (which means: send an
email to [email protected]) that they want to choose an
alternative patch approval method (e.g. something like "...I'd like to
approve patches for my module myself via {bugzilla, email, ...}...").
This is primary to avoid confusion under which rule a patch was commited
to the X11R6.8.x branch.


3. Who is going to commit the patches ? Should everyone be allowed to
commit patches (which may be tricky when patches depend on each other
(which would enforce a specific commit order)) or only a specific set of
persons ?
