kdm at least relied in part on it.
Since X is providing the API it should also provide a
sample implementation of it. This sample implementation may
be useful for new implementation to avoid errors that we
have gone thru in the past. Believe me, that *is* an issue:
I've seen at least one new implementation of session mamagement
which introduced exactly the same problems I had fixed in
xdm long ago.

As long as core fonts exist:
