Is it better to do OpenGL fonts as outlines or use Freetype to generate bitmaps? The bitmap route should behave identically to the 2D case. Fonts are an area where delayed rendering of the window content is important. If the window has a 2x or 0.5x composition magnification delayed rendering of the fonts will produce much better output since the font bitmap could be computed for the final output resolution. --- Keith Packard <[email protected]> wrote: > > Around 12 o'clock on Mar 5, Karl Rasche wrote: > > > Do you have to 'move' the verticies so that things line up straight, or > > is it possible to fill in fragments (or KIL them off) up to the nearest > > pixel in cases of vertical/horizontal segments? > > You have to move the spline control points so that curves and lines look > smooth and so that linewidths remain proportional.
