There has been some discussion on some of these topics in the past on the pdx lists. (Or where they were before moving to pdx...) I was hoping someone had done more research than was discussed back then. I am especially curious whether anyone has tried using inkjet prints to photo paper of simulated text displays to research this. The fact that many drivers prefer to send 24 bit sRGB to the printer and let it convert to however many inks it supports at whatever exact mix of drop sizes at a placement resolution of up to 7200 dpi these days suggests that, when printed on glossy photo paper, they may match the feel of at least some emissive display tech. Unfortunately I do not have the budget to spend on ink carts to test this thesis.... But thanks for the reply. -JimC
