I'm trying to make a bootable hard drive partition, not a CD. I > was able to make the CD... I figured that part out on my own. The advcd.txt file should contains all the required information. Anyway you should only run one of the "makepart" or "makeusb" script. For Linux there is a bug which prevent the installation on partition bigger than 4 GB. You can solve this using the new version of the makebootfat program available at : http://advancemame.sourceforge.net/beta/ > I've got a big external USB hard drive I'm using. Using a so big USB harddisk is a problem. The USB boot tool used by AdvanceCD is limited to 1 GB size. It's mainly intended for USB stick devices. To boot for a so big harddisk you must use an alternate USB boot tool. You can try using the "makeusbfreedos.sh" script available at http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/*checkout*/advancemame/advcd/contrib/makeusbfreedos.sh instead of the "makeusb.sh" The Windows version is at : http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/*checkout*/advancemame/advcd/contrib/makeusbfreedos.bat WARNING! Please note that the "makeusb*" scripts completely DELETE the whole USB DISK! You cannot install it in a partition. Effectively the whole disk is always filled with a single big partition. To install in a partition you can use the "makepart" script, but it doesn't support the USB boot. You must install an external boot tool. Anyway, a new version AdvanceCD is nearly ready to be relased. http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/*checkout*/advancemame/advcd/doc/histcd.d ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
