Hi
I'm trying to get this up and running and I'm having a few issues. I was
hoping someone could lend a hand.
My equipment:
ATI Radeon 9000
27" ESA (Circuit City) TV
S-Video connection (although I'm also trying component)
Windows 2K Professional
AdvanceMAME .90
Download/unzip AdvanceMAME. Run advmame to generate a config file. Take
out everything except for the roms directory. I also put in
device_video_clock 5 - 50 / 15.73 / 60. Then I run svgawin /l. Then I
need to run advcfg, correct? I run that, select TV NTSC, then select
Generic - NTSC TV. Then I get a choice of centering. Any of the three
choices gives me the error message, "Calibration mode unsupported. The
video mode is incompatible with the monitor limitations." and it kicks me
back to a cmd prompt. So automatic configuration doesn't work.
I then run advv. I get a few pages of settings, most of which are dark
blue (reads "out of range" in red in the bottom right) and about 13 light
blue ("programmable"). I've tried about a half dozen and so far each one
causes the TV to go black and I have to reboot the computer on a monitor
to get it back. Do I need to try each one? Has anyone had success with
this card/configuration? What can I do to troubleshoot this?
Thanks.
Jim
