Does intelfb work with advmame 0.94?

I have integrated Intel 865G video. I've rebuilt my 2.6.11 kernel with vesafb removed and intelfb built *not* as a module. The intelfb driver is in place, but when I try to run advcfg, it reports in dmesg intelfb: Pixel clock is too low (12 MHz vs 25 MHz). when trying to test a low resolution. There is no patch for this fb driver for low clock rates in contrib/mame/fb. I've set the video clock for my monitor to several different values with no effect. Does anyone out there have experience making this driver work? I think there is no svgalib solution. Thank you!
