Yes, it absolutely is the sounds system, thanks for the lead. From the log file, I see: video:fb: sync:0h video:fb: vmode:0h video:fb: reserved 0h:0h:0h:0h:0h:20495441h video:fb: ioctl(FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO) video: video_done video:fb: fb_done() os: sound_abort sound:alsa: soundb_alsa_stop() sound:alsa: soundb_alsa_done() os: close log And if I run "advmame --device_sound none gamename" it runs without a hitch. Are you aware of any requirements as far as alsa versions go?
