Thanks for your feedback. Version .79 sounds about right. It was around there that I think the problem came up for me too.  My friend is mainly interested in running stuff that was available in .79 and doesn't mind not being able to run anything newer, so I guess we will do the rollback.  We just really want the sound running perfectly again! =)

This makes me think that your problem might be related to mine in some strange manner. I posted a few weeks ago my problem, that is, no being able to get proper vsync since I upgraded my cab to 0.95. I had to get back to 0.79 that was running like a charm so far

My config :

Mandrake 9.2, kernel 2.4.24

MSI K7T266Pro2A, AC97 sound

AMD 1700 XP, 256Mb DDR

Unfortunately, I haven’t got any spare sound card. I’ll try to compile with no sound support and see what happen
