Hello,
I has a what sounds to be the same problem. You might find the posts
eariler if you search this list. it was awhile ago. Anyways the problem I had
was an interrupt issue with the svgahelper.o module. To test this I sshed into
the box at from a different computer and started advmenu on the console. I
noticed that my ethernet card and the svgahelper were using the same irq.
Hitting enter on the ssh session used the network card triggering the
interrrupt on it and caused advmenu to display. After launching a game and
returning back to advmenu it would happen again. The fix for me was edit the
vgamisc.c file in svgalib and change line 43 from
#if 1
to
#if 0
and recompiled svgalib.
I got this info from Matan from svgalib.org.
Hope this helps you out
