Does your system lock up or will escape still bring you back to a console after the blank screen? Getting anything useful in the kernel message ring? Try typing "dmesg" once you're back to the console (assuming a positive answer to my prior question). The svgalib kernel helper is loading ok? I assume so since you said the demo apps work. What are your arguments to ./configure when building advancemame? You can find that in the config.log file in your source directory if you're not sure offhand. - Aaron http://www.mameblog.com On Mar 10, 2006, at 1:14 PM, Ryan Hagelstrom wrote: > Previously I had advance mame/menu set up on my linux system > running an > older version of the kernel and svgalib.
