Missing ship

I just started a new game after getting destroyed by the AI again 
and I made it a lot dumber this time.  I used the "Play One Turn For 
Me" option for the first few turns and now there is a line from my 
home planet to a nearby planet with nothing in orbit around my home 
planet and the scout in orbit around the nearby planet but when I 
select the scout, the line between the planets does not turn green.  
I went to the "List All Fleets" screen and it says I have "one 
Mother (3/2) Colony Ship" that is "Leaving Aries for Ylum" but I 
cannot see it or manipulate it on any planet.

I've tried to read all the messages posted here but there are a 
buttwhack of them so I'm hoping someone can tell me if this is 
normal.
