Thanks for the quick reply.  I just went back and experimented with 
this theory but it only happens when I use the "Play One Turn For 
Me" option.  I just did it again.  The Palm Pilot created a scout at 
a planet and sent it to a nearby planet.  I can see the path the 
scout will take but not the scout.  I can only tell it's a scout by 
going to the "List All Fleets" screen.  I'm 99% sure that when I 
use "Play One Turn For Me", it does not end the turn for me because 
when I try to "Play One Turn For Me" again, it gives me a dialog box 
telling me I'm an idiot and it has already done this once and to 
shape up and get a job (or something like that).
That's all I have to say about that.  :)
