If you do that, just dismantle the ships before you end the turn. Then you get all the money and metal back. This only works if you don't hit end turn before you notice. Another tip, set to build a max satellite, then switch to a biological. Now you have a biological satellite that does not consume any population (no range=no refueling). -----Original Message----- From: larry_fluke [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, July 12, 2004 12:39 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [ho5palm] Re: Few suggestions from a new player * It seems that last ship you built stays current until the end of the turn, at which point the first ship in the list becomes current. While we're griping about the user interface, here's another one: It should warn you before letting you build ships with 0 range, especially since the game will sometimes default the range to 0. Here's how to loose the game: Go to the build screen, select Satallite from the drop-down ship type list and then click Max. Range goes to 0 because satallites don't move. Now select Dreadnought from the drop-down list. You see a dreadnaught will all values set to the maximum, except range, which you probably won't notice is still set to 0. Hit Build to use up almost all your money and metal, and you end up with a VERY expensive, VERY powerful ship that can't go anywhere. I've only done that twice. Larry to the Yahoo!
