Might be something in the metadata too. Since you've uploaded a problem sample to the bug tracker, the focus can shift rebuilding the JPEG rather than preserving the problem file. If I wanted to rebuild a jpg on Windows, I'd use GIMP to export it in TIFF or PNG format, close the file, open the new format file and export that as JPEG to a slightly different filename. I suggested loading and saving in Paint, but if that works, we still don't know what triggers the error.
