Deborah Try this: Select People. On right hand side make sure there are no Tag or Custom Filters set. Click to Create Custom Filter (the icon on the right of the Custom Filter box) Give it Name ie No Immigration and any comment you want. Click on the + button and select "People with the personal <event>" from the Event Filter list. Start adding Immigration in the "Personal Event" box on the right and select immigration. Tick in the "Return Values that do not match the filter rules" Click OK Then run the Filter and see if it works. I have an established Family Tree in Gramps. I want to find anyone in that tree who does not have an immigration event. I can find anyone with an immigration event by using the People list. Filter for event->immigration and press the find button. Can I filter for the absence of an immigration event? Can I tag everyone with an immigration event, then search the list for anyone without that tag?
