Struggling with timelines

Hi, I have been trying to work with timelines, and am struggling to extract the data I want from Gramps. Basically I want the data from the Events and Timeline views of the new and improved Relations view. The Timeline quick view gives me an OK-ish approximation of the data (and grabs a few extra useful events, so not going to quibble), which I am then trying to import into a spreadsheet with the goal to compare timelines between individuals. But. When I save to clipboard the data, which is full of commas, goes into a CSV file. Which wrecks the columns' alignment. Is there a way to have the workflow either escape the fields (quote marks would work) or use a different separator (semi columns would work fine)? I feel like I am missing something...
