Hi Dan, I think that I once saw a virus scanner complain about the introspection component, which it then tried to deactivate or even remove that. And it is quite essential for the user interface, so if it isn't there, Gramps quits. Can you tell us more about your virusscanner? Can you inspect its logs to see whether they mention anything which looks suspicious? I think that on one of my PC's, it was F-Secure, that suddenly gave a false alarm.
