Thanks, Dave. I did change as you recommended name USA, language en, after 1776-07-03 alternate name 1 13 colonies, language en, between 1492 and 1776-07-03 After I did, I had to go edit a person's birth, and now it works as expected on screen: 13 colonies before, USA after the revolution. However, on the graphical reports/ancestors report, the pdf generated still shows only USA, for any date. How do I get it to show the right name for older dates? Thanks again Dan ________________________________ From: Dave Scheipers <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, December 2, 2022 11:58 AM To: dan inbox <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected] <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Gramps-users] Name change for a country Hi Dan You actually need to add the USA date information to the Name record. At the end of the Name field there is an editor icon to set this information. With that set you can remove the alternative name USA. It does not work. All events are listed with USA even before the revolution.
