Re: Problems with importing GEDCOM file

Thanks for bringing up this subject. There is a lot of good content related to Gramps and WikiTree. (In our maillist, in Discourse, Facebook, WikiTree's G2G, and elsewhere) 

Some of the stuff posted to their support forum really is more about Gramps than WikiTree... like techniques of using Gramps as a utility to split GEDCOMs. 

A subsection for WikiTree has been started on our wiki page about GEDCOM dialects. But tracking down and consolidating the good content could be a full-time task for a month or more.

Thank you for alerting me to that.

I have subsequently, posted a query there, asking whether, after three 
years after the problem with the non-compliance with the GEDCOM 
standard, resulting in the corrupted GEDCOM files being exported, was 
raised, the problem would be fixed, to make the files exported, GEDCOM 
files, that would be compliant with the GEDCOM standard.

Apart from the problems caused by the exported files being corrupt, I 
strongly believe that where something is purported to be compliant with 
a standard, it should, necessarily, be compliant with that standard.
